Sub-processors
Who processes your data on our behalf, what they can reach, and where.
FieldTechie is hosted by Scaleway in Paris. Maps, address search and push notifications come from Google. Crash reports from the mobile app go to Sentry's EU region, SMS is sent through GatewayAPI, and DNS for our domains is provided by Cloudflare.
Your data lives in a database of its own, not a shared one. This page is the list of sub-processors in Appendix B of our data processing agreement: the companies we engage to process your data on our instruction.
The companies we use
| Company | What they do for us | What they can reach | Where | Transfer basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scaleway SAS France |
Hosts the whole service: servers, databases and backups, file storage, email sending and logs. | All data in the service. | Paris, France (EU) | Not needed — processing stays in the EU. |
| Google LLC Firebase Cloud Messaging |
Delivers push notifications to the mobile app. | The device's push token, and the notification's title and text. | EU and USA | EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. |
| Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) USA |
Collects crash and error reports from the mobile app. | Device and app information and the details of the error. No user identity is sent. | Sentry's EU region | EU-US Data Privacy Framework, with the European Commission's standard contractual clauses as a fallback. |
| ONLINECITY.IO ApS (GatewayAPI) Denmark |
Sends SMS messages to your customers, when you turn SMS notifications on. | The recipient's phone number and the message text. | EU | Not needed — processing stays in the EU. |
Also receives data: Google Maps
Maps and address search come from Google. Google is not on the list above: under Google's own terms it processes this data as an independent controller, not on our instructions. We name it here so you know exactly what reaches Google when your users use a map or search for an address.
| Company | What it does | What it receives | Where | Transfer basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Ireland Limited Google Maps Platform |
Maps and address search, under Google's own terms as an independent controller. | The address you type when searching. For maps shown in your browser: your IP address, the area of the map shown, and the coordinates or address of a location in map images. | EU and USA | The European Commission's standard contractual clauses (controller to controller) in Google's terms, and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. |
Not on the list, and why
- Software we run ourselves — user login, the message queue and route calculation run on our own servers at Scaleway. They are not separate companies.
- Cloudflare answers DNS queries for our domains. Traffic to the service does not pass through Cloudflare, and Cloudflare does not process your data.
- Stripe handles our billing of you, as our own business with you — not your customers' or employees' data.
- Google reCAPTCHA protects the newsletter signup on this website and the page where a new FieldTechie account is created against bots. It concerns people signing up, not your data, and is described in our privacy policy.
Systems you connect yourself
Accounting and payroll systems and webhooks that you connect are your systems, used under your own agreement with their provider. We send them, or fetch from them, only what you configure:
| You connect | From FieldTechie to your system | From your system to FieldTechie |
|---|---|---|
| An accounting system | Customers (name, address, company and VAT numbers, contact email) and invoices. | Customers, products, VAT codes and payment status. |
| A payroll system | Approved hours, mileage, supplements and absence (absence types can reveal illness). | Employee id, employee number, name and email. Never national identification (CPR) numbers. |
| A webhook | The events you subscribe to, limited to the fields you choose. | — |
Before anything changes
We tell you by email at least 30 days before we add or replace a sub-processor. You can object on reasonable data-protection grounds, and if we go ahead anyway you can end your subscription free of charge before the change takes effect.
